Date Parties

After this weekend, I've realized that I do not enjoy date parties. Every single time I get excited, to only be disappointed the next morning. This time I even made a CD for the pregame. Talk about dedication.

For one, I hate wearing heels. I find them to be cruel and unnatural. However, I am 5'3" so they are necessary and I mean... who wears flats to semi formals? Social suicide.

Second, someone is always running late. This would be my friend Bree. As she is one of my besties, I obviously want to take peppermint patty shots with her, but she is never there in time for that to happen. Therefore, she only sees me at my worst. Clear-eyed and brainless.

Next, I always have to scrape around for a new profile picture the next day. This past weekend, I must have taken 50 pictures, but only one was remotely close to profile worthy. I mean it's up, and I'm okay with the way my body and face look, but it's not phenomenal. Maybe because it actually looks like me? No more using pics from my glory days (aka high school). That was a privilege lost freshman year of college. Ugh.

Lastly, I always get into a fight with someone. This past time it was with my boyfriend after he told me my dress "looked weird." I paid like $90 for that piece of shet, and I was so obsessed with it, that it broke my heart. I think that I stomped around for an hour until I calmed down enough to dance with him to David Guetta songs. "But Sarah, I think it looks weird in a good way. Like it's different." Give me a break. I think that I am going to intentionally wear it next time we go out to dinner. Even if it's Applebee's.

Overall, sorority date parties/grab-a-dates/semi formals/formals, get a lot of build up for no reason. You spend hundreds of dollars on a tan, a dress, and fake nails all to dance in a mediocre bar and drink cran vodkas. For this reason, I am going to try to be as unexcited as possible for the next date party that we have. Someone once told me if you expect the worst you never get disappointed. I'm into it.

Adios.
